The branch of Lamezia Terme (CZ) is located in the industrial area of San Pietro Lametino, a few kilometres to the south of the international airport of Lamezia Terme, in Calabria. It is devoted to the development of innovative materials and technologies for energy production from renewable sources.

The branch is going to host laboratories for the development and the characterisation of thin films for photovoltaic applications. In the future, the activities are planned to extend to other fields, such as energy generation by wind power and biomass.

The research activities are carried out in cooperation with local institutions, such as the University of Calabria, and small and medium enterprises; in fact, one of the mission of the branch is to act as a nucleus, aiming at aggregating competencies in the field related with renewable energies, already present in the region.
