DaInox Bright™: New Annealing & Pickling Line (A&PL) process technology for cold rolled Stainless Steel strip
Danieli and Centro Sviluppo Materiali developed a very innovative process technology, trade named DaInox Bright™, able to obtain stainless steel strip with an enhanced surface quality, close to 2R one, with plant having the same production capacity and cost of conventional A&PLs. Further benefit expected is to decrease the environmental impact of chemical pickling process.
On November 26th and 27th 2009, DANIELI in collaboration with CSM presented the DaInox Bright™ process technology to a wide group of Stainless Steel producers during an Open Day event which took place at DANIELI HQ in Buttrio, Italy.
Attendants at the event were: Acerinox, Acroni, BaoSteel, E-United, JSL, Marcegaglia, Posco, ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni. In addition to technical presentations and discussions, the event included a visit to the pilot plant in operation at Danieli R&D Department, where Participants could appreciate the enhanced product Quality and production saving related to the new process. A great interest in DaInox Bright™ process-technology was expressed by all Participants. Some of them have already started technical and commercial discussions with Danieli for the re-vamping of their A&PLs with DaInox Bright™ process technology.
