A recently proposed methodology to assess hoop mechanical properties in medium-high thickness pipes is implemented for industrial seamless steel tubes. Both numerical and experimental procedures in order to optimize the test are presented. The results are compared with conventional methodologies (such as the testing of a round specimen taken from the hoop direction).
