In the latest 20 years CSM researchers have managed to gain a strong knowledge about intermetallic material and, more specifically, about the correlation among their chemistry, microstructure, workability and functional-related characteristics (e.g., mechanical properties, corrosion and oxidation behaviour).
The CSM metallurgists have developed technics able to make some demanded features prevailing on other ones as a result of the remarkable work done in balancing the material chemistry and the thermomechanical process conditions.
In that respect, whoever from the industry or academy is active in developing new reliable and more performing intermetallics applications can find in the company the right environment where to receive a complete support on the functional properties of nickel, iron and titanium aluminides.
This is made possible through the handling of a complete set of tools like:
• thermodinamical, physical and process models;
• working microstructural models about the degradation of the related funtional properties
• fabrication and characterisation equipments.
