Through a complete set of lab equipments and pilot plants, CSM is able to respond to customers needs related to this capability, ranging from the product qualification and the failure analysis up to the development and support to the industrialization of new products. These labs are described below:
•
Hot dip coating pilot units
ü
These lines permit to produce hot dip coated samples and to design and simulate industrial continuous and batch coating cycles.
The main use of the lines is for the coating of steel with molten Zn (galvanising / galvannealing), Zn-alloys, Aluminium and Al-alloys.
Continuous hot dip coating is simulated with a vertical equipment splitted into two zones: the upper for fast heating (induction mode) and soaking stages (electrical resistance heating) (e.g. during galvannealing processes), the lower containing the melting pot and wiper knives.
•
Surface treating and painting lab equipments
üMulti-batch degreasing;
Phospating unit;
Bar, dip and spray painting units for liquid and powders paint;
Electropainting unit (ED painting);
Fast IR and Induction heating curing unit;
UV curing unit;
Programmable oven units.
Spray cleaning unit pilot line
This unit works within the 50-70 °C temperature interval and simulates the degreasing-rinsing-drying working cycle, so permitting the development of the optimal cleaning cycle for a given painting process and evaluate the efficiency of cleaners.
