Chemical Analysis
The lab is endowed with the following apparata: - a X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) for the analysis of all kinds of steels, metallic alloys, refractory materials, powders, oxydes mixtures, cements, slags and wastes;
- a Plasma source optical spectrometer (ICP-OES) for the analysis of metallic elements in water solutions or produced through solids dissolution;
- a Plasma source mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) to trace and sub-trace metals in water solutions or produced through solids dissolution
- a Capillar gaschroatography apparatus coupled with mass, electron and flame ionization spectrometry (GC-MS, GC-ECD/FID) for the analysis of organic compounds and organic micropollutants (IPA, PCB);
- an Accelerated Solvent Extractor for the quick stripping of organic compounds from solids;
- a Ionic Chromatograph for the analysis of anions and cations in water solutions or produced through solid matrices dissolution;
- a Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer for the quantitative analysis of organic compounds, oils and greases and asbestos;
- a Carbon and Sulfur Fast Analyzer for the analysis of metallic alloys, refractory materials, powders, slags and wastes;
- a Nitrogen and Oxygen Fast Analyser for the analysis of metallic samples;
- an Automatic Titrator for the acid-basic and redox evaluation in process waters and solutions.
- a Resistance Furnace-Hydrogen Analyser, for the assessment of the hydrogen content in metal samples.
